Activities to help COVID-19 Patients to get Better

The youths population in Kenya is increasingly becoming vulnerable to Covid-19 at an alarming rate. With the past statistics according to the ministry of health, showing about 80% of daily new COVID cases to be youths, this population is gradually getting in its prone condition, Corona Virus (Covid-19), with its common symptoms being fever, dry coughs and tiredness, has greatly brought Kenyan youths to a social-economic downfall making them physically weak and mentally depressed.

As a highly vulnerable population, I have determined a depression in terms of patients' hospitalization and Clinical services. The increased number of COVID patients calls for a planned system of hospitalization. The numbers have now called for home care services. This is going to help in boosting confidence among patients since they are going to be served by people they know, parents, siblings or spouses. While we encourage home care services as a form of COVID patients' hospitalization system, we'll be helping them recover quickly due to the availability of moral support that lowers mental illness.

Physical exercises are key to motivate and encourage COVID patients to recover from the disease and get better. With the home care system, the patients will be able to part in physical activities like walking from point to point. Lifting items around them like water in troughs, arranging and moving items in their isolation rooms. This body exercise will not only boost their immunity but also to help patients heal from mental illness like stress and anxiety.

The government should be encouraged to promote and support health talks with the patients. The health personnel should give one on one health education to the COVID patients in a venture to boost their knowledge about the disease and how to manage it at a personal level. In so doing, there shall be minimal COVID infections between the patients and their health assistants. Moreover, this will equip them when they recover, not to be found in the second infection, but also will become COVID ambassadors to protect the rest of the population.

If patients Will be taken through mental health activities, they may gain courage to manage the disease, and diligently strive to fight the disease. In this point, their health assistant should take them through activities such as story telling sessions, to help them switch their minds off from the pains resulting from the disease. It will also serve as a session of joy dispensation into the patients. They will have a sense of Care and tolerance from their assistants.

Regarding that most of the COVID-19 patients are young people who get infected while looking for life in their lines of duty, the Government should come up with a policy that protects their economic activities. This will lower depression among patients, resulting from anxiety from loss of their jobs or a fall in their businesses. The Government should also ease access to COVID-19 vaccines among patients so that to lower the intensity of the disease to the vulnerable population.

Mental health to COVID patients may also be attained from the freedom they get. Time to time, the need to be exposed to open-air places for refreshment. This should be done in respect to the Covid-19 protocol as stated by the World Health Organization (WHO). This will include social distancing of about 1.5m to 2m away from one another. This freedom and exposure to open air will help to lower or do away with depression among COVID-19 patients.

In conclusion, the patients should be provided with nutritional Care to boost their body immunity. Regarding that they include patients with immunocompromised diseases, the nutritional aspect among COVID-19 patient should be regarded so that they can get better.
